CertainTeed.com "Remodel Project of the Quarter" Contest Official Rules

PURCHASE REQUIRED. OFFERED ONLY IN THE (50) UNITED STATES AND THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW.

1. ELIGIBILITY: Open only to professional builders, contractors, remodelers or installers (collectively, "Building Professional") located and doing business in the (50) states of the United States and the District of Columbia.

An authorized representative must enter the Contest on behalf of an eligible Building Professional. Authorized representative must be 18 years of age or older, a legal resident of the United States or the District of Columbia and possess the requisite authority to bind the applicable Building Professional for in purposes of participation in this Contest. By submitting an entry, the authorized representative (a) represents and warrants that they have the authority to bind the Building Professional for the purposes of participation in this Contest and (b) that the Building Professional will abide by and be bound by Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor (CertainTeed Corporation) and judges at all times.  All Sponsor decisions are final and binding in all respects and are not subject to appeal. Only one (1) person can act as the authorized representative of a Building Professional.

MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC (IE, ALL PERSONS / ENTITIES OTHER THAN BUILDING PROFESSIONALS) ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR THE CONTEST. Sponsor and its respective affiliate companies, subsidiaries, employees, agents, professional advisors, advertising and promotional agencies, and any agencies or other companies involved in the development or execution of the Contest or distribution of the Contest materials, as well as the immediate family members (spouse, grandparents, parents, siblings, children, grandchildren) of each such person are also not eligible for the Contest.

2. HOW TO ENTER:

A. Must take and submit (2) before and (2) after pictures of the remodeled area. The remodeling project can involve the interior of the home, exterior of the home or infrastructure.

BE SURE TO SECURE THE WRITTEN PERMISSION FROM THE HOMEOWNER BEFORE TAKING ANY PHOTOS OF THE REMODELING PROJECT. (Sponsor requires proof of homeowner’s written permission.  If the written permission is not submitted timely, the Building Professional will be disqualified from the Contest).

B. Purchase at least two (2) of Sponsor's products from two (2) different product categories to be used in the remodeling project.

C. Submit via e-mail: (a) four (4) before and after photos; (b) a Contest registration form completed with all required information and (c) a description of less than fifty (50) words of the CertainTeed product(s) used in the remodeling project. The pictures must be in the form of jpg or png files and cannot be more than 10 MB each. The pictures and Contest registration form must be included as attachments to the e-mail. Put the "Remodel Project of the Quarter Submission" in the subject line of the e-mail and send it to: BuildingSolutions@saint-gobain.com.

IT IS THE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE BUILDING PROFESSIONAL TO SECURE ANY NECESSARY APPROVALS AND PERMITS AND TO HAVE INSURANCE COVERAGE IN EFFECT IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE REMODELING PROJECT, AND, SPONSOR AND ITS AGENCIES EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ANY LIAIBLITY FOR THE REMODELING PROJECT UNDER ANY LEGAL THEORY.

3. ENTRY RESTRICTIONS:

All entries and related components must be received by at 11:59 pm Eastern Time on the last day of the applicable quarter – March 31, June 30, September 30 and December 31. All components of the entry must be submitted together, piecemeal submissions will not be accepted. Once the entry is submitted, it cannot be edited, modified, altered or supplemented. The entry must be original work of the Building Professional. Any disputes as to the identity of Building Professional will be resolved by the Sponsor in its sole discretion.  Sponsor has the right to disqualify any entry that violates any laws or adversely affects the goodwill or Sponsor or its products.

4. GRANT OF RIGHTS:

Each entrant hereby grants Sponsor a royalty-free, irrevocable, perpetual, non-exclusive, fully transferable license (i) to use, reproduce, modify, publish, create derivative works from, and display the entry in whole or in part, on a worldwide basis, (ii) to publicly perform, transmit, and distribute the entry in whole or in part, on a worldwide basis, (iii) to incorporate the entry into other works, in any form, media or technology now known or later developed, including for promotional or marketing purposes, and (iv) to sublicense to third parties the foregoing rights. If necessary, entrant will sign any necessary documentation that may be required for Sponsor or its designees to make use of the non-exclusive rights entrant is granting to use the Submission.

5. DETERMINATION OF WINNER:

A. Judging:

A panel of judges will review all eligible entries based on the following criteria: (a) creativity (20%), (b) originality (20%) and (c) effective use of CertainTeed Corporation products in the remodeling project (60%).

B. Winner Notification:

Approximately 15 calendar days after the end of each applicable quarter, the potential winner will be notified.  If the potential winner cannot be contacted, an alternative winner will be selected.

6. PRIZE:

$1,000 loaded onto the Building Professionals’ CertainRewards.com account. Applicable taxes on the prize are winner's sole responsibility. No prize transfer, except with the written permission of Sponsor.

7. LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY:

Sponsor and its agencies are not responsible for (i) entries that are lost, late, illegible or incomplete and (ii) for any problems or technical malfunctions, disruptions or failures of any kind.

8. GENERAL CONDITIONS:

If for any reason, the Contest is not capable of running as planned by reason of infection by virus, bugs, worms, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes which, in the sole opinion of the Sponsor, may corrupt or affect the administration, operation, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Contest, Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest, and select the winners, from the entries received prior to the action taken or in other such manner as deemed fair and appropriate by Sponsor. The Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or to be acting in violation of these Official Rules or any other Contest, or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. The Sponsor’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.

9. DISPUTE RESOLUTION / CHOICE OF LAW:

All aspects of this Contest, including its conduct and the award and use of the prizes, shall be governed in accordance with Pennsylvania law as if all such activities were to be fully performed within Pennsylvania, without giving effect to principles of conflicts of laws. Each entrant agrees to submit to the sole and exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to resolve any disputes arising hereunder or in relation to this Contest or the award, failure to award, or use of any prize.
