Renewing Asphalt and Paving a Sustainable Future
Our proven technology turns recycled asphalt shingles (RAS) into pellets that mix perfectly with hot mix asphalt (HMA), providing asphalt producers with a reliable option that diverts millions of tons of waste from landfills.
How RenuCore Achieves Performance and Sustainability
The paving industry no longer has to choose between performance and sustainability. Our pioneering technology pelletizes both post-industrial and post-consumer shingle waste and creates the ideal conditions for transforming oxidized asphalt into performance grade (PG) asphalt. The resulting paving product provides equivalent performance and greater recycled content, opening the door to cost savings, easier storage of materials, and reduced environmental impact.
What Makes Our Method Different?
We took a new approach to the decades-old problem of how to incorporate RAS into HMA. Unlike prior efforts, our focus was on proper characterization of the oxidized asphalt binder and the resulting need to restore it to a softer, standard performance grade used in asphalt paving.
Our method softens the entire shingle, including aggregate and fiberglass, back to a performance grade suitable for paving, allowing easy incorporation into HMA and reducing the need for virgin asphalt.
The renewed asphalt pellets are coated with a durable shell organic blend that protects the finished core during storage, ensuring a continuous and reliable supply for HMA production.
